The International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine (IATTM) was established in 2006 in order to ensure the integrity and authenticity of Traditional Tibetan Medicine teachings and to promote the continuity of practice of Traditional Tibetan Medicine (TTM).
Sorig Khang International (SKI) is the official succession organisation of the IATTM and has been established during the 4th international Congress of Sowa Rigpa in April 2016 in Tallin, Estonia. The aim of this non-profit organisation is to facilitate the spreading of Tibetan Medicine/ Sowa Rigpa teachings worldwide. Today SKI operates officially in over 40 countries with the headquarter in Germany.
Since the creation of the IATTM in 2006 and later SKI in 2016, local regional branches have been developed with the aim of realising the vision of SKI: providing courses on Tibetan Medicine, educational materials, publications and further supporting medical aid as well as educational projects for those in need, i.e. after natural disasters or without regular access to health infrastructures. The regional branches fall under the coordination of SKI.
